- 4 cups fresh strawberries
- 4 cups sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- paraffin wax
DIRECTIONS
1. Wash berries and remove hulls.
2. Place berries in large sauce pan with 2 cups of sugar. Mix well. Heat to full rolling boil. Stirring constantly, boil for 2 minutes.
3. Continuing to stir, add remaining sugar and return mixture to a full rolling boil. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
4. Remove from heat, add lemon juice. Pour into large bowl. Stir frequently, skimming foam from cover.
5. Let stand overnight. Ladle into hot scalded jars. Cover with thin layer of melted paraffin. Store in freezer.
