INGREDIENTS

For the Biscuits:

  • 4 1/2 cups Bisquick
  • 1 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup flour to work the dough
  • 1 gallon-size Zip-lock bag

For the Gravy:

  • 2 pounds pork sausage
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 5 cups milk
  • salt & pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

For the Biscuits:
Pour the Bisquick and the 1 1/3 cup milk into a gallon Zip-lock baggie and knead. Place a small amount of flour on your hands and rub together. Remove a piece of dough the size of a pool ball and form a patty 3/4 inch thick by 2 inch in diameter. Repeat until all of the dough is gone. Place the biscuits in a greased Dutch oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes.

For the Gravy:
Brown the sausage with the oil in a large skillet and drain excess grease. Return the skillet to medium heat and add the flour stirring well. Add the milk gradually while stirring and bring to a slow boil. When the gravy thickens it is ready. If it gets too thick add some more milk or water. Slice the biscuits in half and pour the gravy on top. You’re all set for a day of riding and roping!!
