DESCRIPTION
Maybe only John can make these cookies perfect every time, but if you want to try, here’s the recipe. These cookies freeze well and taste great warm or cold from the freezer.
- 2 sticks Land O’ Lakes margarine (or softened butter)
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon premium vanilla (2 teaspoons if using cheap vanilla)
- 1 teaspoon water
- 4 eggs
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 heaping cup of old fashion oatmeal (spilling cup)
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 bag of Toll House “Milk Chocolate” chips
DIRECTIONS
Mix the first 5 ingredients together. Add the next 5 ingredients and mix together. Then, mix in the bag of chocolate chips.
Scoop onto cookie sheets. (I use a 1 tablespoon cookie scoop to keep size and shape consistent)
This is where you need to vary the rules based on YOUR oven. I bake in the oven at 365 degrees F for 15 minutes. I have a convection oven that recalculates the temp to 340 degrees F; The convection fan keeps consistent temps in the oven, so I can bake 3 sheets on 3 racks and they finish at the same time.
Remove from cookie sheets and put on cooling rack for 5 minutes
Serve now OR put in freezer bags and freeze ASAP. Leave in freezer until ready to server.
