Truman said,  &#8220;The Buck Stops Here.&#8221;</em></p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>DESCRIPTION</strong></p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comfort food.</p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>INGREDIENTS</strong></p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>1  egg</li><li>3/4 cup  sugar</li><li>1 tablespoon  flour</li><li>1 teaspoon  baking powder</li><li>1/8 teaspoon  salt</li><li>5  small raw apples, peeled, cored and diced</li><li>1 teaspoon  vanilla</li><li>1/2 cup  chopped walnuts, to garnish</li><li>1 pint  heavy cream</li></ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>DIRECTIONS</strong></p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beat egg and sugar until light and fluffy.  Mix flour, baking powder, salt and stir in sugar and egg mixture.  Add apples, nuts and vanilla.  Bake in buttered dish, covered, in 350 degrees F oven for 35 minutes, or until apples are nearly tender.  Remove cover to brown top and serve chilled with whipped cream.  Garnish with chopped walnuts.
